Had a very enjoyable weekend, last.I was invited by a stable
in our zone to take portraits of the riders, after
our banquet, with their ribbons, trophys horses etc.
Took the D1 and computers and 2 helpers(wife/daughter).They
had it well organized with a rider every 15 minutes or so
and have a very nice front lawn for backgrounds(blue spruce
and white birch trees)
I thought at best to sell 1 pic per person with some
buying a second for grama, but nooooo.Everyone liked the pictures
and wound up printing 90 for 25 riders.I stopped shooting at 4pm
and finished the prints at home by 5pm the next day.Talk
about mouse withdrawl.
One thing i did learn was shooting this type of portrait you
have to think and setup quickly as horse and rider move about
quite rapidly and have your eye in the finder always or you'll
miss some good shots.
I quess the point of this is by using methods from lifes
experiences and helpfull hints from the list members i had
a great day and a great learning experience.

Dave
