I have a pile of money with which to purchase a 67 lens. I am now trying to decide which one to buy. Help help help! If anyone has anything bad to say about either of these guys, let me know.
I do realize that the two are radically different focal lengths, but they both cover lengths that I like in 35mm and would like to have in 67, and I'll probably eventually get the one I don't buy now... 1) SMC 67 45mm f4. I like wides. I use my 24mm a lot on my 35. I've found one in beautiful shape for $945 CDN, which isn't really a steal, I don't think. 2) SMC-M*67 300mm f4 ED IF. I use my A* 200mm f2.8 a lot on my 35...this isn't quite as long, but the minimum focus distance is significantly better than most long 67 lenses (2m). The real temptation here is that I've found a minty one for $2200 CDN, which as far as I can tell is pretty damn cheap. Probably if I buy the 45mm I'll also pick up a metering prism (yeah, I know, it ain't great, but I've run into a couple of situations where I could use it) and maybe a waist-level finder. Or maybe one of these ash wood tripods one of my reps is trying to sell me on. If I get the 300mm, I'll be getting it and nothing else. Life is full of difficult choices. ;) -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
