...so, when making a print in an enlarger, the print is made from an
image projected onto the paper that is not a photograph by nature of its
projection but then becomes a photograph AGAIN when it strikes the
silver of the paper?  Or is the chemistry that makes it back into a photograph?

And what good is a slide without putting light through it to see?  Is
the image viewed in a loupe or slide viewer on a light table a
photograph, or is the only photograph in this scenario the unlit,
unviewable slide?
