Screens on the grandold manual focus Pentax cameras came in different sizes. 
For instance, the screen of Super A/Program is smaller than the MX screen. 
It was glued on a metal frame which can be removed from the mirror box 
without any disassemble of the camera. I think K1000 shared the same design, 
but not 100% sure. If I remember correctly, that screen was slightly thinner 
as well. But because filing the screen is a very risky and difficult task, I 
would not recommend at all (I did and failed).
