Len,
I absolutely agree. It was a dopey idea from the outset. There are so many
problems introduced by trying to implement a digicam that way--and so many
opportunities missed--that it more than offsets the alleged advantages of
simplicity and avoidance of redundancy.

The wonder is that it lasted this long.
