I am not angry. Yet I have not seen anything from you or Shel that would
even begin to demonstrate why photography -- or art -- cannot improve on
reality. Yes, the rabbit has to be in the hat, but the magic that makes
him interesting is in the mind and the technique of the magician. The
magic is superior to the reality of the rabbit's mudane existence. If my
last paragraph made _you_ angry, perhaps that is because it chastised a
bit for labeling my approach to photography "sad" and "unfortunate." But
I am not angry. Yes, it is an old argument, but it is an unsettled one,
and there are many valid opinions attendant to it.
