I forgot to mention a few important places: San Diego: Balboa Park has many interesting view. Rose garden (I am not sure if they are blooming yet), Tropical garden (or something like that), other interesting things (check the list on-line). Zoo is attached to the Park.
On your way from Anaheim to San Diego - on I-5, there are a few vista points - right off the highway - they are marked as such. You might want to use them. Also, - you might want to consider taking the coastal highway - at least some portions of it. One of the possibilities: From Anaheim, - take I-5 South, and then take Hwy-55 south (to Newport Beach) - then proceed along the coastal Hwy down to Dana Point - when you can get back on I-5. This stretch would take you about 1 hour of driving, but you would want to stop at a few places and enjoy the views. Hotel del Coronado that Godfrey and David mentioned - is indeed nice, and there is a beautiful beach next to it. It is in top-10 beaches in the US (at least continental part). The peak that David mentioned is the Mt. Soledad that I described in my previous e-mail. Personally, I wouldn't go to Tijuana, - especially if you have limited time. In my opinion - it would take a lot of time, but is not that interesting (although, somewhat exotic in the sense of Mexican culture, poverty etc.) Really beautiful parts of Baja-California are south of Tijuana. "40 minutes from Anaheim to Hollywood" is true only without traffic. I-5 in downtown is almost always congested. So, depending on the day and time of the day, it can take up to 1-1.5 hours. Igor
