A proper repair job would consist of measureing the distance from the lens
mount face to the film plane and insureing they are parallel. This is
usually correct, but can be off. Adjustment is by shims. The focus screen
must be checked to see that it is in place and locked tight. If it does not
lock tight, some minor "reforming" may be in order. Then the mirror rest
position must be checked to insure that the focus on the screen is the same
as on the film plane. This is usually the fault. I believe the mirror
position is adjusted by reforming (bending) the mirror rest.
