<pure hypothesising> I am more concerned that peripheral things, like batteries, will not be available for the potential life of the camera. That particular issue is (so far) not so important for Pentax users as the company has very sensibly used generic cells. More realistically, how will you do anything with a camera that does not download images because its software is not supported by the computer you now use? Or that you cannot get storage media for? People using obcure, roll-film folders can still get many of the obsolete film formats by using specialist firms. I imagine that this type of work-around will have a match in the digital world but I suspect that it will come about in 15, not 50 years. Conversely, some of the better quality (define that how you will) folders will produce pictures as good as modern equipment. Will that be true of 10, 15, 20 year-old digital SLRs? </pure hypothesisng> I'm afraid I have more questions than answers for you. mike ----------------------------------------- Email sent from www.ntlworld.com Virus-checked using McAfee(R) Software Visit www.ntlworld.com/security for more information
