Hi JC .......

Yes, you're right. This is what I experience, too, and I do the same drag-and-drop from the CF card reader to the HD. You are just a little more complete in the description than I was.

FWIW, I have a piece of software for OS 8 and 9 that I can run under Classic, called Utility Dog. It will allow you to change creation date and time, but I can't figure out how to batch correct the creation date only (without also changing the creation time). Perhaps there's an upgrade that will allow this.

Mine's slightly bit different...

I transfer images from my *ist-D to my Mac (Tiger 10.4.1) by popping the CF card into a USB reader and dragging the files from one Finder window to another. The Creation Date in Finder list view is "----" and not the epoch date.

The JPEG files seem to have the creation date set but not the PEF files.

When looking at PEF files from my *istD in List View on a Mac, it always shows the Creation Date as "December 31, 1903 7:00PM" and the actual Creation Date appears in the Modified Date field.

If I select a PEF file in the Finder, and do a Get Info command, it shows the Creation Date as "--" (two hyphens) and shows the actual Creation Date in the Modified Date field.
