Why buy a grip? I thought the same with regard to the PZ-1 and PZ-1p. However, after using the cameras with bigger glass, the grip helps. (Bigger glass= A400/5.6 or FA28-79/2.8 or FA80-200/2.8) I bought a second grip so I've got one for both the PZ-1 and PZ-1p. Regards, Bob S.
