HI Herb -
I naturally picked what I consider to by my best work to offer to sell.
But - two things - first, sometimes the pieces I pick don't sell, and
second, sometimes people specify a pic that I would not select myself,
usually for the subject matter. The latter is true primarily in cases of
editorial use, where the photo editor needs a particular subject and simply
cannot find a shot that works. I have lots of competent shots of insects,
some less common than others, and have from time to time sold those simply
because they covered the subject matter.

And, of course, the trite and the hackneyed have tremendous
marketability - even more than the innovative and sublime. So at the end
of they day, I don't think sales really tell you much.
