Smugmug is nice, and have a couple of other users from PDML too.
However, AFAIK, it's more of an online gallery and less of a community
than the others.
Tim,
If critique of your images is what you're after, the paysites are
always better. The only caveat with them all, though, is that they all
work after the "I scratch your back you scratch mine" principle. If
you don't spend a lot of time there leaving comments on other people's
pictures, you get nothing back. The constructiveness of the comments
vary greatly from site to site, and in this respect, you can't find a
better place to spend your money than the Gold membership at
www.foto.no.
The PDML is the one exception to prove the rule of paysites being
better. The comments you get here are frequently of high quality. You
have at least a handful of megabytes from Online.no, and I bet you're
able to slam up a couple of lines of HTML to cover your needs. :-)
IMHO, we may be the best free service around.
Jostein

Subject: Re: Recomendations on where to upload public images
In addition to the sites already recommended, I can add couple other
ones that I am considering myself.
1. fotki.com - They've been around for several years, and I know
many people who have been using them. I haven't seen bad connection
to them.
cons: recently increased price for the premium account ($50),
and absence of indexing the albums (i.e. assigning several keywords
to each album, and then creating "virtual" albums based on a
separate
keyword).
2. Just a few days ago a friend of mine mentioned
http://www.smugmug.com/
I haven't checked all details yet, but it seems to allow indexing
and more.
Hope that helps,
Igor
