If you carry four sets of Everready AA Lithium E2 batteries (or CRV3s), you'd have power for 5000 exposures without the need to deal with a charger. I took five sets with me on my three week trip to the UK. I made 2900 exposures while there (roughly 28Gbytes of PEF files), and I've done another 400-500 exposures since I returned home ... and I'm still using the third set of Lithium disposables. At $8 per set of AA Lithiums, it is the most convenient travel power I've found yet.
I don't know whether the PD7X can use the AA Lithiums. I know the PD70X can, and would likely be able to nearly fill an 80G drive before exhausting a set.
