Yes. You can (usually) complete the separation of the lens using very hot
water and carefully sliding them apart. Mark them for orientation first.
Remove the old optical cement (sometimes Canadian balsam) with solvent.
Clean and recement (aligned) with optical cement from Edmonton Scientific.
(I think they still sell it.) One drop in center, one lens straight down on
the other causing cement to flow evenly and without bubbles.
