I know it is a little flash without zoom head and so on.
But what does it offer? Little but with quality or totaly bad unit?

I think the AF240FT flash is underrated - functionally it's not that different from the AF330FTZ (same power etc, diffuser/extender instead of zoom, no contrast-control flash). It's lacking in features for many applications, but for macro work its great - in fact its my flash of choice:
- Compact & light, so easy to use on a macro bracket
- Plenty powerful enough for macro work
- Has a 5P cord socket, so you don't need an off-camera adapter, unlike AF330FTZ (still need a hotshoe adapter & 5P cord though).
- TTL seems to work well for macro
- Full & 1/16th power options if required
- Typically much cheaper than other -FT flashes!

Mine has been very reliable, with no problems with build quality.
