It was a project for my niece ... of course it can be done other ways.  I
can think of several options right off the bat, but there was neither the
time nor the need to use other techniques.  All I had time for was a few
quick snaps with the digi camera and then a fiddle in PS.  I don't care
that it looks like it is a result of PS ... that is precisely the look that
my niece wanted so she could take the results and do what she needed to do
for her project.
