The person who described this shot as "intriguing" found just the word I
was looking for. (Thanks!)
It's a rather "Annsan" sort of shot (that's a compliment).

lol ... I guess I have to find some "Annsan" photos to see what that means.

(Now will "Annsanian" join "Theriaultean" in the PDML vocabulary?)

Godfreakian? ]'-)

... I could go on - but this is just a terrific shot! Let's just leave it at that.

As I responded, if I'd had the 14mm with me, I would have tried a slightly wider view and then cropped to a square as well. But I kinda like it just as it came out too.

BTW, Toronto's Gay Pride parade was yesterday, too. Too hot; after
waiting for about 1 1/2 hours for the parade, I decided to walk up to
Church Street (the gay ghetto, simply called "the ghetto", which was
closed off for a giant street party. Only took about 1/2 roll or 20
frames. It was so hot and humid, I don't think I was inspired enough
to shoot anything good. Hopefully got a few interesting shots...

Someday I have to make the Toronto Pride festival. Friends who have visited Toronto and Montreal have come back with glowing reports of what nice places they are. I haven't been to Toronto since about 1973 or so ... too long!

Godfrey, this is really a photograph that demands time to be spent looking at it. It has quite a few elements put together very well.

Suffices to say - my initial reaction was that the highlight on the top right wasn't necessary. Next moment I realized I might've been wrong.

In fact, I think all pieces fit together quite nicely and the "Smile" on the left completes it. I seem to recall the "Speech Song" somehow...

:-)

Thanks again.

Godfrey
