I run a fully colour managed work-flow too and was involved in colour 
management back in the days when it was an add-on to most systems. It's great 
and I wouldn't be without it however the truth is that its not 100% necessary 
for colour work when direct digital capture is the source.

The *ist D colour is so accurate that you could produce colour accurate images 
for web display or professional print using a grayscale monitor. The caveats 
being that you don't make colour adjustments and stick to the pre-sets or use 
manual WB from a reference card and have black and white points set within your 
monitors limits (visible) plus the gamma visibly correct
