What we seem to have is people publishing the equivalent of their contact sheets. None of us who post PDML meets show every photo taken (at least I hope not) and that is a special thing anyway. We all like to see what others on the list look like. I admit I feel pretty cheated when it is labeled a PDML meet and it shows pretty pictures instead of other PDML'ers however. As I said, if someone wants to provide a link to their work as a whole a signature line link such as I have is the way to do it.
graywolf http://www.graywolfphoto.com "Idiot Proof" <==> "Expert Proof" ======== Well, yeah, I had no PDMLer pictures (but no, it wasn't a contact sheet, even though there some some may wondered why I included :-)). But I think GESO's from those events are slightly different. The group of us may who met may want to see each others' pictures (and more than one or two): out of curiosity, to see what others noticed that we missed, to see what their "take" on it was. I also think others might get something out of that too, seeing how different people photographing in the same area did it differently (because they will see some of the same areas in different pictures) -- inspiration, give people ideas of things to try, new ways to look at things or approach things, or things to avoid, etc. Also it's a matter of do you dribble the whole bunch out one at a time over the next two weeks, or dump it all at once. And, personally, I get more shots taken at a meet, or semi-good shots, than I usually do when I shoot by myself. In other words, it's a shared experience (at least for some), so it's slightly different than a GESO of an event/thing that only person went to or saw. I also agree seeing PDMLer's photos is fun, but then there are those like me who don't particularly like how they look (right now) and appreciate the restraint of others. ;-) And a GESO photo story, sure. I really debated doing a GESO at all for the NorCal Meet, but I thought I had more than 2-3 half-way decent shots and didn't want to dribble for days and days and weeks and weeks. So I picked out five and shared two, one, and two at a time. Then did the gallery -- I figured by that time, some would look, some wouldn't, because they would have already seen some. Or the viewing would be quicker for those that looked at both, because some were already shared. It is always up to each of us to look or not -- at PAWs, PESOs, whatever. There is no obligation. But I agree, GESOs, in particular, can seriously strain the generosity of other PDMLers. Marnie
