I had thought of this also. Would be rather cheap using some plastic tube
and material. Do you have any pointers on this?
What sort of tubing?
What sort of fabric (reflective and diffuse)
Do you have an elastic through the tubing?

I was trying to find a URL last night, someone had sent me a link for home meade studio equipment.
Unfortunately, I don't seem to have saved it.
Materialwise, I let what I am building decide the materials.
If I want a large gobo, then I will use either copper tube (plumbing pipe), or electrical conduit.
Something smaller, which doesn't require any sort of structural strength, I would choose plastic tubing, or whatever I can find that is cheap.
Ripstop nylon is just fine for diffusing light, and silver lam makes a good reflector, and can double as a gobo, dince it is black on the reverse side.

It's pretty basic, think about what you need, and then sketch it out on paper.
A visit to your local home building supply will give you lots of ideas for how things can be attached together.
I haven't used shock cord in anything I have constructed yet, although I can think of a couple of things that might benefit from it.
There are a couple of things at the stidio that get taken down and put back together so often that they are now, after 10 or so years, practically self destructing from wear on the jointing points.
