My opinion is you should escalate only if necessary. First things first: talk to the seller politely and tell him what you want. I propose a full refund, including postage even if his policy says otherwise. This is an outrageously broken lens. If he does not play ball, then escalate. Take a deep breath and write a small, polite email. Good luck. Kostas
