I'm happy with CF. Never had worries about size, handling or losing them.

One of the issues that many digital photographers have told me about is the small size of all, including CF, memory modules. They're easy to lose. They fall out of bags. It's a pain.
And since digital cameras are (finally) becomine real computers, it would stand to reason that we need a better, more universal bus in the camera and a more modular method for handling memory modules. Here's what I'm sending to the manufacturers:
1. Establish a common bus *in* the cameras. Maybe a mini-PCI or SCSI.
2. Create memory "packages" to hold several modules of choice. xD, sD, CF, whatever. The bus would be the common factor. You could put multiple large cards in your package, plug it to the camera bus, and shoot as long as you needed.
Advantages:
a. Use as many or few modules as needed. You control the cost
b. The camera OS would span multiple modules as needed. Larger individual pictures & net volume are now available.
c. Have a bad module that won't "span"? Just take it out or swap it and keep shooting.
d. Intelligent writing could automatically span bad modules, preserving your work progress and the image integrity.
