I'm with you, Shel.  The smallness of the boy in the scene is part of
the message.

This part I can't go along with.  Yes, it would tell a "more complete"
story, but I think it would be a different story.  The solitude of that
small figure on the steps tells a story I like.  The fact that other
people are outside the framing (or obscured by, e.g., the lamppost)
helps this shot, IMO.

Well, it could be that story, but I like the story it tells framed as
it is.  I have to admit to disliking the "MAC" sign hanging from the
lamppost, though.
