Looks like a useful object. BTW - you can get a better aspect ratio on a panorama by using a wider lens, of course. I'd still want to take about as many images overall, to avoid distortion when stitching the images together (although the panorama stitching programs might already be able to correct for this), but the wider angle of view would yield more at the top and bottom. There again, this means you'd get sky at the top, and more foreground. Would this produce anything of interest? Not all the time, I surmise.
