Not nearly as bad as some though. China tops the poll with some 106,000
deaths in three quarters of a MILLION RTAs per year. Mind you, out of a
population of 1.2 billion, it's a relative drop in the ocean.

In Britain we lose approx 3500 on the roads out of a population of about
60 million. That's about 6 per 100,000 (the baseline measure).

The USA is about 42,000 deaths (about 16 per 100,000). Portugal and
Greece fair much worse as this table shows:

China is about 7 or 8 per 100,000, but Thailand, Korea and Malaysia soar
away with the worst record, the latter accounting for about 30 deaths per
100,000....
