Hi all.
Once again, thanks to those who suggested films to use on my annual hunt for the elusive
coloured
leave.
I now have all my film back, have given it the once/twice look over and then the final
test,let the SO
have a go at the prints/slides.:-)
My thoughts:SLIDE
-Shot 2 rolls of Kodak E100vs in the 6x7. Great stuff. Nice reds and blues. Love this
film.
-Shot 1 roll of Fuji Provia F100. Love this about the same as the 100vs.It had great
reds
and blues as
well.
-Shot 1 roll Agfa RSX II. Its ok but the reds just arn''t as punchy.Oranges seem
good.Sky
not a rich blue
as the others. I 'd use this as a back up only if i could not get the two films
mentioned
above.
My thoughts:FILM
-Shot 1 roll of Fuji Reala and 1 roll of Kodak Portra 400VC in the 6x7 after i ran out
of
slide film.
Like the Reala better. Colours look nicer, brighter. The portra reds seemed to have a
brownish look to
them. The oranges did not look to bad.
Conclusion:
6x7 chromes are asume.:-)Kodak and Fuji seem to have the punchier film for reds and
blues
IMO.
I normally don't mount my 35mm slides(all 5-6 rolls a year.lol)but i did these two.
Much
easier to look at
than trying to drag a 3 foot roll around.<vbg>
I looked into Ilfochrome that we talked about in the summer with out any
luck,however,Aaron tells me
he can scan and print that will rival the Ilfochrome print.(Archival pigment inks i
believe he said)
Now to try and get to Oakville to see him(i have several i'd like done.)
Thanks for listening and maybe this will be of some use for someone.
