So, do you want the long story, or the short story? Oh hell, it's the Sunday of a long weekend, not much posting going on, I'll give you the long one. You can always just go down to the link if you don't want to put up with my incessant prattling.
So, remember the other day, Shel posts a smiley clown toy camera? Sure you do. I asked Shel off list if it were real or not. He says, "It's a toy, of course it's not a real camera". I said, well, I've seen a bright plastic clown camera that actually takes photos." Then I go looking for such a camera on the 'net. I so doing, I came across this guy's collection: http://www.ksurf.net/~photocam/index.htm It has got to be the most eclectic camera collection I've seen! For instance, did you know there was a French camera from the 50's called a Pontiac? He's got it. Did you know that Lionel, the toy train company made a sub-mini? He's got that too! If you click on "Cans and other Cameras" you'll find a clown camera, btw. There seems to be a lot of rare cams here (one's that I've never heard of, anyway), but nothing seems to be really uber-expensive. Just a really funky, cool collection of off-beat and wonderfully weird stuff. No Pentax that I can see. BTW, the front page is French; don't be put off, the camera descriptions are all in English. Have fun! I did... cheers, frank -- "The optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears it is true." -J. Robert Oppenheimer
