Understandable -- though I think it was the closest thing the OM system had to the Pentax MV or MG, so it's interesting from a Pentax's-competition-at-the-time point of view.

I heard enough negative remarks from fellow OM users, I proceeded to ignore it from then on!

Oh yes! And somewhere in there was the OM-10, too. Not too bad a camera, but in their zeal to appeal to all and sundry tastes and pocketbooks, they felt they had to offer an affordable SLR, in the fashion of the OM-1, but less costly. Didn't work...
