photographer :-).

Better to invest in a Chrysler minivan for 20G.

If you want to do everything, then US 15G is not enough investment.
OTOH, if you can live with turning down the occassional job for lack
of equipment, or can rent the exotic stuff when needed, then 15G well
spent should be enough to go "pro".

Remember that the entire "pro" thing has been very watered down,
first by 35mm, and now by digital.
Image quality is no longer so important that you have to be shooting
with a view camera.
A good tripod, a couple of camera bodies and a few zoom lenses along
with a shoe mount flash is enough equipment for a lot of what passes
for pro photography these days.

Even lighting equipment doesn't have to be a killer investment
anymore. A couple of thousand dollars will give ample studio flash
equipment for most any job, unless you really have your sights set
high and want to shoot large product.
