our natural enemy, only kidding :-)

Thanks for commenting my "MS Silvretta" shoot, I will post some more if I
can repair the scans enough...
The long, long river is the Rhine and the Rhine Ships go from Bale to
Rotterdam Holland. Imagine the
"Silvretta" passing the Rhine Falls is fun... Every Swiss ship is registered
in Basel at the "Schiffahrsamt"
in 1977 Switzerland still had 36 freight ships, now maybe 15 and nearly no
Swiss crew hired anymore.
The crew often comes from the Philippines and the Officers from former
Yugoslavia and maybe there is even a Swiss or German captain, cost matters,
there is not much "Swissness" anymore like in the Chocolate business
(Toblerone = American Philip Morris owned) :-(
