I have one of these too, I believe it does shift focus
a small amount as you zoom. I have a vague
recollection of long ago when Shel tried one of these
and finding a noticeable focus shift and relabeling it
a varifocal design.. Shooot me down Shel if you must
(we are talking some years back) but please wait till
