Week before last, dumbass that I am, I dropped my day old Optio MX and damaged it to the extent that the LCD was not imaging, and the latch that holds the battery in place was broken. When checking my email after returning from our trip to Maryland, there was a message from Pentax Colorado. I was expecting an estimate for repair, instead I was told that since the camera is so new that they don't have parts yet, they were sending me a new one as a replacement.
