Hi Kevin,

I use the exact Pentax wording:

S = to be used with lenses up to 300 mm.
L = to be used with lenses over 300 mm. 

This of course leaves the 300 mm lenses without suitable teleconverters.
My understanding is that both the S and L ones can be used with the 300 mm
lenses (except the 300/4.5).
