Hi David,

http://www.angeltowns2.com/members/hans/pics/Imgp0089_04_real.jpg

is a part of the picture in real resolution.

I used the lens for the first time for these shots. And I am
quite content regarding that I didn't used a tripot.

The nice thing is, it is very small and light. But one has
to set the aperture manually before the shot. That is especially
for small apertures very bad without tripot. Working distance is
also good. And the lens is optimised for high mag.

FA50mm Macro + extension/converter may lead to impractical effective working distance
since the front ring of the FA is much protrouding
(almost like a lens hood). Image quality may also be not that good.

A very cheap method is using a 28 or 35 mm lens reversed.

The so called 'stacked lens' method is said to give really good results.
If I had some more time I would try this using my SMC-M 200 mm together
with 50mm reversed (mag = 4) or Novoflex bellows reversed 105 mm (mag = 2).

Best regards, Hans.

G'day Hans,
The first shot especially is cool, it has a nice 'look' as well as
appearing pretty sharp and is of a nice subject. Well lit too, which
I've found is often a problem in high magnification stuff. Any chance of
seeing a larger version?
I'm interested in the lens - how do you find it? The other option I've
been considering for high mag stuff is an FA 50mm macro + extension
and/or a teleconverter, which should get me pretty good magnification
but I don't know about results.
Anyway, nice captures, looking forward to seeing more from you.

David
