My mistake on the viewfinder spot metering indicator; I misread the information I 
have, and where it said Spot Metering Frame, I transposed this in my brain to mean 
Spot Metering Indicator. Sorry for that. Guess I could pay closer attention as well. 

On the F5, if you set one of the Special Settings (or whatever they're called in the 
Nikon world), you can get it to sync at 1/3000sec. At least, that's what it says in 
the pdf.
