Eleanor,
I'm playing big-time catch-up, after being away from my computer since about Friday, so I'm just now hearing that you'll not be able to make GFM.
I'm truly sorry to hear that, but I agree with you: you're doing what must be done.
All my best to your Dad. I'm sure there'll be other occasions that we'll have the opportunity to meet; who knows, there's always next year.
cheers, frank

after similar thoughts had been posted by Cory, Cotty, Tanja, Bill O. ... and I
have a horrible suspicion I'm going to forget somebody ...
Thanks all, I do appreciate your kindness.
I was pretty concise about it last night when I posted, because I wasn't sure
to what extent y'all would want to know all about my family, and I was also
feeling rather emotional about giving up the trip and didn't feel comfortable
about ranting on and on, which I might do because of feeling so strongly about
it.
Anyway, I know it's the right thing for me to do, and at least my children, who
were very excited about visiting an actual mountain as well as the other parts
of the road trip we'd planning, are even more excited about the new plan (first
overseas trip for them).
ERN
