Thanks for the comments Frank. It is full frame - I played around with cropping and just didn't get any good feeling from it. As to the background, this is northern California coast - fog is the name of the game. It burns off as the sun shines, but earlier in the day, it does look kind of like this. I wonder if it was clearer if that would take away from the birds - they might blend in too much.
