I think I'll nominate a camera kit. The Contax G2, the lenses were excellent 
but the camera hoovered, particularly the focus system and finder. But I got 
out of it without too much skin off so I'm not bitter and twisted :-)

Wow, is AF of that much consequence with this length of lens? I've been using 
mine quite successfully with the *ist D and I suspect that in the situation 
that it may be useful the AF would probably fail, its AF performance hasn't 
instilled be with confidence to this point.
