Hi, > My knowledge of almost anything exceeds my knowledge of lacrosse, which > is, I think, only played in Britain at expensive girls boarding schools, > and very viciously at that, or so I'm told.
I had a summer job at one such school in 1975, when I was 18. I worked in the gardens of Harrogate Ladies College, mostly trimming hedges by hand, so I developed forearms like Popeye. At the end of the summer I spent 2 days poking the ground of an enormous field with a stick, trying to find the holes where the lacrosse posts go. I learnt to drive around the same place, mainly because my driving instructor was such a lech. Whenever he saw one of the girls he would lean over to me and say "Look, Bob Robert. Look at the virgin". -- Cheers, Bob
