Not really low at all in my usage.. Even in bright daylight all it takes is a dark coloured subject (centre weighted metering if that's of any consequence..) I've noticed. It's useful at times, but some people get cranky in the midday sun, being spotbeamed in the face, then walloped by a flash. On the other hand, those that don't mind are more worth photographing given their rarity! :-)
