Hi! Sorry I am late to this thread. Here are my bits of experience:
1. I have Plextor PlexWriter 16/10/40 - old but reliable. No coasters whatsoever unless caused by operator, aka me. 2. I used to use Verbatim disks but then they became extinct in Israel. I switched to TDK (spindles of 50) that were brought to me from USA. No problems yet. Knock on wood of my head. 3. What I would recommend is to examine periodically your archival CDs. Also you could consider making two copies of each important disk. Perhaps using different brand can be a good idea to come along with previous one. 4. I hear from many sources that burning at high speeds x48 and above is not really reliable. I cannot tell, as I cannot burn faster than x16... I would recommend trying few speeds and seeing how it comes out... Just my cents... Boris ([EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED])
