Intersting. This is one big lens. I believe, I once read that this lens
(range) was designed especially for baseball and sold at the price of a very
nice car?

Dunno about pin sharp, but I've had satisfactory results from just that
setup (PZ-1p, 250-600, monopod).  Not up to my chest in water, mind you.
