Indeed.  I just hope that point is relatively soon for all the 
manufacturers.  Unfortunately, Canon has apparently suggested that they
are intending to stay with APS-sized sensors for their "non-pro" cameras, 
and Nikon's expanding DX lens line suggests a similar posture.  Pentax
could win market share by putting out an affordable FF DSLR if the other
guys are unwilling to, but I doubt that Pentax has the volume to make an
affordable FF DSLR right now.

I doubt it.  We all know that it proved impossible for the electronics 
industry to get more than 1 mhz out of the Pentium CPU design.
Nikon certainly hopes you are wrong!
