But...radio was king until post WWII, with 1947 being a milestone year. The 1947 World Series had the largest viewing audience of its time. The Kraft Television Theater debuted, Harry S Truman was the first president to have his State of the Union televised, and, for all of us kids, the first television superstar, Howdy Doody, was born.
