Hi Everyone! This is a quick one for me as I am working to deadlines and I am extremely rushed.
I will be sure to come back later and post properly, but I just felt really rude as you have all been making such lovely comments about my PUG shot. I too love the shot, and Frank, it was the freakin' tail that got me too! lol. This shot has now been chosen by the client as her "signature" shot and will be used on her business cards/stationery/website etc. FYI, it is a little girl talking to her daddy! lol, AND she WAS in fact saying 'can we go home now?" cause I had been shooting her all afternoon and she was totally fed up. I did a series of silhouettes over two days for this shoot. I shot them all laying on the bare dirt as the land is very flat and it was the only way I could get enough light coming through their legs to give the full silhouette. The first horse one, you will notice, I was too high, and the light wasn't quite "there" yet, so I lay down on the ground (had shorts on too, you should have seen my knees and elbows afterwards! lol), and the light changed and they looked much better. They can be found here: http://www.tanyamayer.com/runnamucklocation/index_4.html (the first shot on the page in black and white). http://www.tanyamayer.com/runnamucklocation/index_6.html (no tweaking at all on the ones on this page. my absolute favourite of them all is the very last one on the page that is just of the grass, and number 82 - again it is the tail that "grabs" me. I also think that number 89 - the kid on the four wheeler with his dawg - is pretty cool too.) then on the second day, we did these ones (with some tweaking on the saturation, but not the contrast): http://www.tanyamayer.com/runnamucklocation/index_11.html http://www.tanyamayer.com/runnamucklocation/index_12.html I was showing them to tv last night and he pointed out a phenomena that neither of us can explain. I did not use any filters, and the equipment was *istD, and FA 50mm f1.7 lens at around f2.8. If you have a look on this page, http://www.tanyamayer.com/runnamucklocation/index_6.html ...you will notice that there appears to be a blue band vertically about a quarter of the way across each frame. I have cloned this out on the prints, but I am at a loss to explain it's presence. Any ideas? I used the same setup for the silhouettes that I shot the following day (including the PUG shot) and the band wasn't present in the second lot. Ok, so some of you have asked about PS tweaking of contrast/saturation etc. So here, I have put up the original of that "marlboro" shot (lol!) and the PUG version for you to compare. I did some increase in saturation, as it was a less than average sunset due to too much cloud, and I cropped out the back of the ute that was sticking into the shot (didn't have time to reframe it as I would have "missed" the moment with the little girl and her dad), and didn't touch the contrast. Here's the link: http://www.tanyamayer.com/marlboroshot.jpg Many thanks so much to you all for your wonderful comments, I truly had no idea that shot would have such an effect! Will be back later to post about Brisbane PDML (or whatever you are calling it!) but I have newspaper editors hassling me, so have to deal with them first! tan. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Brogden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, 2 March 2004 12:31 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: March PUG On Sun, 29 Feb 2004, frank theriault wrote: > Okay, maybe it's more than the tail. Did you tweak the saturation, contrast, etc. at all? chris
