Hi Eduardo,

I presented an idea like this several months ago.  The intent was to create a super-gallery.  The idea evolved into a 'photographer's choice' where each photographer would  choose what they considered to be their best work of PUG images already submitted.  I still like the idea.  The obvious disadvantage is the time it would take to maintain it.  I haven't pushed it any further yet, because since I had the idea, I'd probably get to be the maintainer...  and I haven't decided whether I have the time or if there is enough support of the idea to justify the time.

Subject: PUG idea

Hi everyone,

Although I tend to read more than write when the PDML is concerned, I must not miss the opportunity to comment how great this month PUG submissions are. My personal thanks for all the members that presented us with some very fine images and, specially to those who give up some of their spare time to build the page, select the images and all the other technical stuff involved, not to mention the commentaries about each submission.
In fact, this month images appealed so much to me that I could not avoid thinking how great it would be if, at the end of the year --- perhaps instead of a December gallery, to avoid giving even more work to the great guys that take care of everything --- there were a gallery dedicated to the "best" images of the year.
I am using the word "best" with great caution here, since I was not capable of thinking of a more suitable one.
Perhaps it could be limited to one image from each month gallery, just to permit images to be shown with more resolution, so that we could see all the fine details.
I don't know if someone else had that same idea in the past, if it was discussed or if it's just not possible.
What do you think about it?
Best,
       Eduardo.
