With the *ist D? I thought it destructively erased files, well at least mine did. :-( It is very easy to select erase all when deleting a single image, especially when using the joy-stick to make the confirmation and doubly so when the joy- stick is faulty (as is mine). My personal policy now is never to erase images in the field (apart from a menu- driven full format) and I wish I could disable the erase button via the set-up menus.
