You betcha.  This is one of the biggest reasons.  That's just not reason
for me to pay that much to be an early adopter.   OTOH, if next year
they come out with $800 *ist D equivalent, then I'm OK with paying some
extra for the *ist D this year.  But not $3000 +.  BTW, the new Canon
1DII looks to be aorund $4000.

I would pay more than $3000 for a camera but not a digital one as equal
performance could be had at half the price if I waited a year or so....
