You betcha. This is one of the biggest reasons. That's just not reason for me to pay that much to be an early adopter. OTOH, if next year they come out with $800 *ist D equivalent, then I'm OK with paying some extra for the *ist D this year. But not $3000 +. BTW, the new Canon 1DII looks to be aorund $4000.
