As far as I know it goes like this; -if the batteries are dead, and the speed is shorter than 1/30 (?) the mirror will stay up as a "change your batteries" warning. - the same may happen in aperture-priority mode? And the exposure will change during exposure in aperture priority because the meter checks light coming off the film (that is useful in flash photography) - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
